HOW ARE THE RECORDS MADE?
Our records are cut on an analogue German made lathe with a diamond stylus, guided by hand in real-time, one at a time. With our setup we can listen to every single record from start to finish while it is being cut to ensure there is no skips or noticeable flaws.
WHAT IS THE QUALITY LIKE?
If the tracks are mastered for vinyl then the audio on our records is very similar in quality to a factory pressed record. Unmastered tracks will still sound good but will differ slightly more from the source audio. Due to the nature of the process every single record will have small variations and slightly more audible crackle and surface noise than pressed records. We cut directly to vinyl blanks which are very resilient and great for club use or scratching and will last as many plays as a factory pressed records.
DOES MY AUDIO SOURCE HAVE TO BE MASTERED FOR VINYL?
Digital files of any kind can be cut to vinyl however higher quality files with tracks that are mastered for the medium yield the best results. The goal is to transfer the source audio as accurately as possible and having the tracks properly mastered will help with this.
Every record will come with a poly-lined inner sleeve and a blank centre label sticker that can be printed on or designed by hand. We currently are unable to offer printing services but we are well versed in DIY alternatives so please do inquire! We hope to offer printing/design services in the future so stay tuned!
HOW MANY RECORDS CAN I ORDER?
We offer a maximum order of 50 copies. For orders of 10 or more we recommend a test cut. We will send you audio of the vinyl test cut to be approved before moving ahead with the rest of the batch. No minimums.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY ORDER?
Turnaround depends on how many outstanding orders there currently are. We will be able to give you an approximate completion date upon placing an order and we are usually able to work with clients’ specific deadlines. Generally, orders will take 1-3 weeks depending on the size and complexity of the job. If you have a rush order please inquire and we'll do our best to make it work!
Orders can be picked up in downtown Hamilton or delivered anywhere in Hamilton for a small handling fee. Records can be shipped within Canada and internationally but costs will vary depending on the size and weight of your order.
Is there any audio that can not be cut?
Higher quality audio yields better results. We recommend 24 bit 48kHz. More compressed tracks will cut but will be less of a seamless transfer. We will not cut any copyright protected material. We also reserve the right to refuse cutting services to music which contains offensive content.
